EMIS migration
EMIS Migration — Now Complete
Our migration from Vision to EMIS is complete. Online services are now delivered through Patient Access. Please register if you haven’t already to book routine GP appointments and request repeat prescriptions online.
What’s New
• Patient Access is live for Kensington Medical Centre
• Online booking for routine GP appointments is available 24/7
• Repeat prescription requests are made through Patient Access
• You can update your contact details and, where enabled, view parts of your medical record
• Patient Services (the old Vision portal) is no longer in use at our practice
Register for Patient Access
Most patients will receive a registration email with a Linkage Key, Account ID and our Organisation ID. If you haven’t received these, please visit reception with photo ID and proof of address and we’ll print your registration letter.
How to Use Online Services
• Appointments: book and cancel routine GP appointments online at any time
• Prescriptions: request approved repeats online; allow the usual processing time and check your nominated pharmacy
• Records and details: view allergies/immunisations where enabled; keep your phone and email up to date
These services are provided via Patient Access and are approved for NHS use.
Getting Started
1. Create or sign in to a Patient Access account
2. Link your account using your Linkage Key, Account ID and Organisation ID
3. Choose your nominated pharmacy for electronic prescriptions
If you need help, call us or drop into reception and we’ll talk you through it.
After the Switch to EMIS
We’re settling into the new system. Appointment availability and prescription turnaround should now be normal, but thank you for bearing with the team while we optimise our new workflows. The system change took place at the end of September, with services resuming fully from 1 October 2025.
Known Issues and Tips
• If Patient Access does not show your repeat medicines, contact reception so we can re-enable your repeat template
• If you used the old Patient Services portal, you’ll need to register for Patient Access — your old login will not work here
• If your date of birth or address is incorrect, please let us know so we can correct your record before linking
Safety and Data Protection
Patient Access uses encrypted technology and meets NHS standards. Your information is handled according to NHS data protection requirements.
Alternative Ways to Contact Us
Online services are optional. You can still phone or visit the surgery. If online services aren’t suitable for you, our team will help you access care in the usual way.
